Global Wildlife Center - Louisiana

This place was great. I actually got to pet a giraffe. I fed the llamas from my hand but the other animals I fed from the cup or threw the food to them. Shelby had a blast there. She wanted to touch all the animals. I had no idea how rough the giraffe's coat/fur/hair/or whatever it is called was. When the bison came up, I would just pour the feed down its throat. The one that kept coming to me had a ton of snot coming out its nose!

Baton Rouge Zoo

The dads got the day off (well until their mom - Miss Garnett - put them to work) while the moms took the kids to the zoo. This was the first time Shelby and I had ever been to Louisiana. We had a good time at the zoo but would have liked to have had more time. We were rushed because we wanted to be able to make it to the Global Wildlife Center in another part of Louisiana before their last tour left. Shelby was sooo good there. I was so proud of her. We saw some of our favorite animals.

Spring Break with Grandma

Shelby is having a blast visiting with her grandma in Mississippi this week. In the first few days we were here, Shelby got to visit with Grandma, learn to "hula hoop" and help bake and decorate Jane's birthday cake. Shelby and Uncle John made a wooden art caddy. The hammer was a little heavier than what she is used to so she had to stand up to get a good swing at the nails!

Snowy Start to Spring Break

What a beautiful snowy day! It is hard to believe that the picture was taken the last school day prior to our spring break. I swiped the picture from my friend's blog. The batteries in my camera were dead and I couldn't take a pic that morning. My classroom is the one in the background. My husband, daughter and I left that afternoon for our trip to Mississippi. The snow that morning was an unexpected send off!
